Results of the Spinal Neurosurgical Symposium

The Spinal Neurosurgical Symposium was held at the premises of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk) on June 21-22, 2021 with support from the Siberain Association of Neurosurgeons “SibNeuro”, Medtronic, Johnson&Johnson, Baxter, BBraun and Stryker companies.

The goal of the event was to introduce the types and methods of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine pathology to the students.

Dr.Yuliy E.Kubetskiy, the Chief of the spinal division of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk) was the moderator of the event. The leading specialists of Russia and also the specialists of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk) were the speakers of the course. The doctors of the spinal division of our Center were also among the faculties:

·         Yuliy E.Kubetskiy, the Chief of the spinal division of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk);

·         Roman V.Khalepa, a neurosurgeon of the spinal division of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk);

·         Ivan I.Vasilenko, a neurosurgeon of the spinal division of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk).

The following invited specialists were among the faculties:

·         Sergey O,Ryabikh, MD, PhD, spinal surgeon, pediatric orthopedic surgeon, the Chief of the axial skeleton pathology and neurosurgery laboratory of the Ilizarov’s Center;

·         Igor V.Basankin, MD, PhD, the Chief of a neurosurgical division #3 (vertebrological) of the Regional clinical hospital #1 (Krasnodar);

·         Vadim N.Bikmulin, neurosurgeon of the R.R.Breden Scientific and Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics (St.-Petersburg);

·         Viktor V.Rudenko, MD, neurosurgeon, the Chief of the neurosurgical division of the R.R.Breden Scientific and Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics (St.-Petersburg).

The symposium lasted for 2 days; each day was divided into 2 parts: lectures and practice. The faculties presented about 25 lectures about current methods of spine disorders with the usage of endoscopic devices. A lot of clinical cases were reviewed and discussed.
