A Visit of Professor Karl Schaller

The President of EANS, Karl Schaller will deliver his lectures on the topical issues of neurosurgery on January 19-22, 2021 at the premises of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk). Lecture days will be divided into 4 themes: neurooncology, vascular neurosurgery, functional neurosurgery and spinal neurosurgery.

January 19 – NEUROONCOLOGY

13.30 – clinical cases review (5-6 cases)
15.00 – lecture on “Surgery of insular tumors”
16.00 – lecture on "Surgical concepts in (para)limbic gliomas"

January 20 - VASCULAR NEUROSURGERY

13.30 – clinical cases review (5-6 cases)
15.00 – lecture on "Training in European neurosurgery"

January 21 – FUNCTIONAL NEUROSURGERY

13.30 – clinical cases review (3 cases from functional division and 3 cases from pediatric division)
15.00 – lecture on "Augmented reality approaches in neurosurgery"
16.00 – lecture on "Recent advances in epilepsy diagnostics and surgery" 

 January 22 – SPINAL NEUROSURGERY  

13.30 – clinical cases review (3-4 cases from spinal division, 3 cases from neurophysiologist)
15.00 – lecture on "Monitoring and mapping in neurosurgery"


Neurosurgeons, neurophysiologists, neurointensivivsts, neurologists, students and residents are invited for participation. Participation is free of charge.
