The first surgical procedure to a patient with epilepsy was performed in Krasnoyarsk under support of Dr.Aleksandr B.Dmitriev, the Chief of the functional division of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk). The first surgery on treatment of epilepsy was performed in the framework of “Public Health” (“Zdravookhranenie”) project in Krasnoyarsk regional clinical hospital. The pilot project on surgical treatment of epilepsy was launched with the mentorship of the Chief external expert-neurosurgeon of Russia, the Academician Vladimir V.Krylov. The surgical procedure was performed to a young patient with drug-resistant structures epilepsy associated with cavernous malformation of the temporal lobe by Dr.Aleksandr B.Dmitriev together with Krasnoyarsk colleagues. The patient’s condition after the surgery is satisfactory.

A regional meeting of neurologists, neurosurgeons, epileptologists dedicated to treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy was held on October 30, 2021. Dr.Alkesandr B.Dmotriev presented his report on surgical treatment of lobe epilepsy where he told about the current surgical methods used in our Center.
