Siberian Course in Endoscopic Neurosurgery

During January, 25-27, 2021, at the premises of the Federal Center for Neurosurgery (Novosibirsk), the educational course in endoscopic neurosurgery was held. This course takes place annually in the last week of January. As in the previous year, the course was headed by specialists from the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk) - Ekaterina Gormolysova (neurosurgeon of the neuro-oncological department) and German Letyagin (Candidate of Medical Sciences, head of the pediatric neurosurgical department, neurosurgeon of the highest qualification category).


The event was held with the support of the Siberian Association of Neurosurgeons "SibNeuro", Baxter, Aesculap Academy.
As in previous years, the Course was divided into two parts: a two-day course in transnasal neurosurgery and a one-day course in intraventricular neurosurgery.  
Ekaterina Gormolysova became the head of the course on transnasal neurosurgery. This year her course consisted of lecture material and demonstration operations and took place on January 25 and 26, 2021. 


Colleagues from St. Petersburg, Moscow and Novosibirsk acted as lecturers: 
  • Ovanes Akobyan, Candidate of Medical Sciences, neurosurgeon of the city multidisciplinary hospital №2, St. Petersburg;
  • Pavel Kalinin, professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, neurosurgeon, head of the 8th neurosurgical department of FSAU “NMITs of neurosurgery named after ac. N.N. Burdenko "of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Moscow;
  • Dmitry Fomichev, Candidate of Medical Sciences, neurosurgeon of the 8th neurosurgical department of the Federal State Autonomous Institution "NMITs of Neurosurgery named after ac. N.N. Burdenko "of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Moscow;
  • Ivan Godkov, Candidate of Medical Sciences, neurosurgeon, senior researcher at the Department of Emergency Neurosurgery at the N.N. N.V. Sklifosovsky Department of Healthcare of the city of Moscow ", Moscow;
  • Evgeny Galushko, neurosurgeon, neurosurgical department № 4 (oncology), FSBI "Federal Neurosurgical Center" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Novosibirsk;
  • Mikhail Amelin, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Radiology Diagnostics, FSBI "Federal Neurosurgical Center" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Novosibirsk;
  • Yulia Babyshkina, Candidate of Medical Sciences, otorhinolaryngologist, FSBI "Federal Neurosurgical Center" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Novosibirsk;
  • Tamara Istomina, ophthalmologist, FSBI "Federal Neurosurgical Center" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Novosibirsk. 



 The second part of the Endoscopic Neurosurgery Course - Intraventricular Neurosurgery - took place on January 27, 2021 and consisted of two parts: theoretical and practical. German Letyagin became the head of the course on intraventricular neurosurgery, as in the previous year. The theoretical part consisted of lecture presentations, as well as broadcasting from the operating room to the conference room of the demonstration operation. 
The lecturer of the course became Jury Kushel, professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, neurosurgeon of the 2nd neurosurgical department of FSAU “NMITs of neurosurgery named after ac. N.N. Burdenko "of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Moscow.
