The doctors of our Center visited the International Neuroscience Institute (INI) in Hanover (Germany)

The specialists of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk) – neurosurgeon J. Rzaev, anesthesiologist M. Novikova and scrub nurse O. Zhilina, – visited the International Neuroscience Institute (INI) in Hanover (Germany) during June, 10-15.A visit to this specialized and well-known neurosurgical institution that has been working for almost 20 years under the leadership of Professor Majid Samii had been planned for a long time. We wanted to look at the organization of the treatment process, the outpatient-advisory part of the work, the equipment of the diagnostic and operating units of the very famous neurosurgical hospital in the world.
Currently, there are only three specialized neurosurgical institutions in Russia, and there are not so many of them in the world. INI is an example of such a medical and scientific neurosurgical hospital.
We succeeded to meet with the administration of the Institute, its leading surgeons, to participate in morning conferences and patient rounds, to visit operating rooms and intensive-care ward, to participate in outpatient seeing patients and, despite a rather short time period of a visit itself, to pack a lot of interesting and useful things.
The range of activities of Prof. Samii’s team is impressive – patients from every corner of the world go to his Clinic. As an operating surgeon he performs several surgeries per day. And, despite his busyness, he is not in a rush and always finds time to discuss clinical cases with young colleagues, to find time for the guests, to make ward rounds, etc.
To a great extent the organization of treatment process and equipment of the clinic in Hanover and in our Center are comparable. We have strengthened already existing and established new friendly relations between neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists and scrub nurses from the Federal Center for Neurosurgery (Novosibirsk) and the International Neuroscience Institute (Hanover).
In the nearest future, the neurosurgeons and anesthesiologists from INI are planning to visit our Center in Novosibirsk.
