The Head of Vascular division was on a traineeship in Japan since 15th till 29th of June.
17 August 2016

Dr.Andrey V.Dubovoy studied working peculiarities of vascular neurosurgeons representing Japanese Neurosurgical School. The traineeship was in Teishinkai Hospital affiliated in the Far East Neurosurgical Institute in Sapporo.

Dr. Hiroyasu Kamiyama and Dr. Rokuya Tanikawa shared with Dr.Dubovoy their surgical tactics of aneurysms treatment and creation of by-pass vascular anastomosis.

The following things are of particular interest:

About 600 neurosurgical procedures are performed annually and there are practically no complications after such operations. Such brilliant effect is achieved thanks to many things: firstly, all surgical procedures are planned very carefully. The patient is comprehensively examined with the usage of the newest equipment – high field MRI scanner with different visualization modes, 320-slice MDCT with different types of vascular reconstructions, angiography with measurement of pressure of blood-flow, etc. Secondly, neurosurgeons use unique surgical equipment based on detailed knowledge of anatomy and on usage of patented surgical instruments. Thanks to all this, there is no intensive care unit because the majority of patients just after the surgical procedure do not need to stay in such unit.

Dr.Dubovoy is planning to implement some part of Japanese techniques into activities of vascular division of our center to decrease the risk of complications and to increase the radicality of surgical procedures.
