The features of new endoscopic instruments in the Spinal Neurosurgery.
Efficient operation of any medical institution is impossible without professional doctors. Medicine is developing quite rapidly, more and more new methods and technologies for the treatment of certain diseases appear every year, so that doctors should keep his eye on the ball and be aware of current events in the world of medicine.

March 20, 2015 Andrey A. Grin, M.D., the chief neurosurgeon of Moscow Health Department, a Senior Researcher of Emergency department of the Institute of Emergency Care named after N.V. Sklifosofskiy, shared skills with experts of the Federal Neurosurgical Center Novosibirsk and guests from other cities.
Doctor’s visit was associated with a demonstration of the features of new endoscopic instruments in the Spinal Neurosurgical Division of FNC. Dr. Green has worked with similar equipment since 2005 in The Russian Federation and in other countries, and today he shared his experience of endoscopic spinal surgery with Novosibirsk doctors and with colleagues from neighboring regions, who came to FNC.
The first operation for endoscopic removal of paravertebral tumor at 3 and 4 thoracic vertebra took less than 2 hours. The operation was carried out in 4 small punctures, what ensured the safety of the chest muscles. Blood loss - 30 ml.
The second operation for removal of the body of the 12th thoracic vertebra with anterior interbody fusion lasted 3 hours 5 minutes. Surgical incision size - 6.5 cm. Blood loss - 100 ml.
Vladimir S. Klimov, head of Spinal Neurosurgical Division of FNC says: "The quality of life of patients operated in this way improves dramatically - rehabilitation period is reduced, there is no pain associated with muscle injury during traditional surgery, reduces the operation time. Thanks to the good endoscope optics surgeon has an excellent opportunity for visualization of pathological formations, in particular, tumors, that provides radicality and safety of their removal".
Such operations were performed in Novosibirsk for the first time, but tomorrow they will be included in the daily practice of the Federal Neurosurgical Center Novosibirsk.
