The News of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation

Mikhail Murashko, the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation had a working visit to Samara region. In the framework of his visit the Minister attended Samara State Medical University and also launched a new full-scale production of innovative medical goods organized in “Preobrazhenka” industrial park. Mikhail Murashko has also made himself aware of the main engineering and innovative infrastructure of Samara State Medical University and highly praised its potential and possibilities.

The park for full-scale production of Samara State Medical University was created for upscaling of vast experience of the University in elaboration and production of innovative medical goods and their enhanced product launch promoting support of technological sovereignty of Russia in the field-specific sphere. The park launch will allow controlling the quality of medical products release along the whole production line; significantly increasing production volumes in accordance with market demands and creating a greater variety of medical goods for activities of doctors and patients.

-               We obtained a new competence: it’s not only elaboration and engineering, it’s production and full-scale production. Essentially, this production is life-saving and allowing a patient to be active. This is a step to a new reality for us, health professionals. This is exactly medicine of future when we are following the way of personalization, - said Mikhail Murashko.

At present some lines of Russian elaborations are being manufactured at that industrial park including equipment for patients’ rehabilitation. As the Minister noted, in the framework of State Rehabilitation Program the demand for such equipment is very high.

-               That is why it is very important for us to do our best to deliver this equipment to medical institutions, - said the Minister.

A very important block of full-scale production is equipment for surgery including equipment for high-technological surgery. One of such elaborations is the newest Russian system for surgical navigation AUTOPLAN. This device is used in neurosurgery, endocrine, thoracic, spiral surgery and traumatology. Application of such navigation systems allows surgeons detailed planning the surgery, minimizing the zones of surgical approach and also performing surgery with a specific preciseness avoiding damaging of functionally significant zones.

Apart from this, production of Russian implants will be launched on full-scale base.

-               There is one more very significant block that appeared here – individual additive technologies allowing manufacturing implants for a certain person. I am talking about surgical procedures of compound and small joints; in cases of severe oncological diseases when it is necessary to manufacture an individual implant, coxal bone, for example. Thereby we will be able to preserve not only a patient’s life but also his activities, - said the Minister.

The launch of a new production park also allows building up full-scale production of goods for telemedicine: it’s planned to organize a full-scale production of digital tonometers, phonendoscopes and spirometers elaborated in samara State Medical University, with a possibility of a distant monitoring of medical indicants of patients in the framework of participation of the University in a project “Personal Medical Assistants”.

From the idea to a final product

-               High competence of the university has gone a very long way. At first there were educational elaborations – anatomical tables that already function in medical universities. Already existing competences in innovative elaborations of Samara Medical University allow developing new goods for each patient individually. We are talking not only about development but also produce high-quality goods working with domestic (home-made) materials – titan, ceramics, polyethylene. Nowadays we are looking toward perspective so to develop new individual direction for a patient in orthopedic sphere and traumatology for Russia.

This is one more absolute breakthrough step in the framework of health repair of our military personnel. This is a high-level innovation, - said the Minister.

According to the Governor of Samara region, Dmitry Azarov, at present Samara State Medical University not only trains personnel but also becomes a real growing point for economics and manufacturing. Production of innovative elaborations is performed here completely.

-               As it is specified in the development concept, today our University goes through initial scientific idea, scientific thought, prototyping center and engineering to a full-scale production. The University became the center of a unique innovative system, of Samara region, - said the Governor.

Besides, in the framework of scientific and educational center and engineering of the future collaboration with specialists in different sphere is realized here. Here the graduates from various universities of the country work in the Samara State Medical University.

-               They are working for the same idea, for the main goal – people’s health conserving. This is the most important and treasured ting that a person obtains, - said Dmitry Azarov.

Quality management and medical engineers

-               A quality management system is incorporated from projecting till the product itself. We understand that we are working with a patient – a human being. Full-scale production is organized in this logics, - noted Aleksandr Kolsanov, the Rector of Samara State Medical University.

This year the University became one of the 10 medical universities winning in “Priorities-2030” program; it also became one of 6 medical universities obtaining a special grant for research and achievement of industrial leadership on “Research Leadership” in the framework of “Priorities-2030” Governmental Program.

Nowadays the University realizes the program “The Leading Medical Engineering School”. Its goal is to train engineering personnel able to handle the tasks of elaboration of new medical equipment, rehabilitation and diagnostics tools and also tele-medical systems based on combined mastering of informational technologies and deep understanding of application of similar technologies into medicine.

-               Collaboration with the industry, the relevance of our goods by a real economic sector, their projection to a certain patient and personified approach are the key point for us, - said the University Rector.

He also underlined that personnel training is the main priority for the University.
