Whole-Russian Neurosurgical Forum

A whole-Russian neurosurgical forum was held in Moscow on June 15-15, 2022. The specialists of the Federal Neurosurgical Center took part in this forum.

On the first day, June 15, the III whole-Russian conference of young neurosurgeons was held. Dr.Yegor D.Anisimov presented our Center there with his report on “The results of surgical treatment of patients with posterior inferior cerebellar artery”.

Dr.Jamil A.Rzaev, Physician-in-Chief of the Federal Neurosurgical Center presented 2 reports:

-       “Facial pain treatment algorithm” – about special features of diagnostics and surgical treatment choice in different types of neurovascular conflict leading to steady facial pain ;

-       “Complication of pineal region surgery” – in this report Dr.Rzaev highlighted the difficulties arising from pineal region tumors removal, methods of control of already developed complications and also about their prevention.

Dr.Konstantin S.Ovsyannikov, a neurosurgeon of neurovascular division made a report on “Differentiated approach to surgical brain revascularization for treatment of patients with moyamoya angiopathy” in which he told about the choice of an optimal method in treatment of patients with such rare pathology of brain vessels.

Dr.Sergey A.Kim, a neurosurgeon of pediatric division, told the audience about hemispherotomy in treatment of drug-resistant forms of epilepsy in children” and shared his experience of children treatment with the most severe hemispherical brain pathology leading to epilepsy progression.

In his report on “Hippocamp stimulation. Novelties in neurosurgery?” Dr.Sergey A.Kim, a neurosurgeon of pediatric division reviewed foreign publications on hippocamp stimulation in process of treatment patients with temporal lobe epilepsy; he also presented outcomes of patients’ treatment with application of this method in the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk).
