A Visit of Professor Konstantin V.Slavin

The last week was eventful for our Center and one more bright fact confirms it. Professor Konstantin V.Slavin from the USA visited our Center in the framework of the “Visiting Professor” program on May 12-16, 2022. A long-term friendship unites the neurosurgical department of Illinois University (Chicago) and the Federal Neurosurgical Center.

Professor Fady Charbel and Professor Ali Alaraj had participated in the Siberian-American vascular neurosurgical symposium in winter 2017; Professor K.Slavin visits us practically every year with his lectures and workshops. This time we reviewed very interesting clinical cases and discussed some patients with chronic pain syndromes together with Professor Slavin; some surgical cases of patients with severe facial pains were performed. The doctors of the Center, residents and colleagues from Moscow and St.-Petersburg were among participants of the workshop.

Such visits well demonstrate the unity of neurosurgeons from all over the world. That would be great if these visits could be possible in the future because development of any medical specialty demands non-stop education and direct communication with the leading world experts.
