A Visit of Professor David I.Pitskhelauri

Visits of the leading foreign and Russian neurosurgeons play a significant role in scientific and educational activities of our Center. A “Visiting Professor” format allows contributing time to professional details that remain beyond due to limited regulations in the framework of ordinary scientific and practical conferences. In the same time, when we invite well-known successful in their sphere specialists, the program of the visit is made in such way so that it could be possible to spare time to discussing patients, presenting lectures and joint surgery.

This time Professor David I.Pitskhelauri from Burdenko’s Institute had visited our Center during the period of April 7-10, 2022. He is a prominent scholar, novator, inventor and a masterful professor. To be short, the Master had visited our Center!

The doctors of the Center examined and discussed the patients with very severe neurooncological pathology together with Professor Pitskhelauri. They also had chosen patients for surgical treatment. Professor Pitskhelauri was directly involved in surgery; young doctors of the Center were also side by side with Professor.

It’s really fantastic how contactable and good-minded person he is. Despite his regalia, status, degrees and experience he kindly and politely talked to his colleagues who were younger and more humble. The only negative part of the visit of Professor Pitskhelauri was his short staying with us. He was unable to give several lectures during his visit but he promised to visit us in the coming future.
