“Multidisciplinary Approach to the Chronical Pain Syndrome Treatment” Workshop

Neurologists, anesthesiologists and neurosurgeons met at the premises of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk) on March 25, 2022 to discuss joint activities in the sphere of chronic pain syndrome treatment. This problem can be faced in cases of different diseases and unfortunately it has no successful solution.

It seems important for us to bring various specialists together to improvement of life quality of patients with chronic pain.

Larisa A.Schepankevich, MD, PhD, Professor, the Head of neurological department of the Novosibirsk State Medical University told about special aspects and pathogenesis of pain syndrome. A neurosurgeon of functional division of our Center, Dr.Vladimir C.Dementievsky told about the possibilities of surgical treatment. Techniques of regional blocks in cases of neuropathic and other chronic pains were highlighted in the reports of a specialist from Arkhangelsk, assistant professor of anesthesiological department of the Northern State Medical University, D.N.Uvarov and a specialist of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk), Dr.A.D.Khrapov.

There also was a workshop on ultrasonic navigation and field blocks of various neural structures under the leadership of Dr.Uvarov and Dr.Khrapov. About 80 specialists from different clinics of our region took part in the event.
