The LXXXVIth Meeting of the Siberian Association of Neurosurgeons

A visiting meeting of the “SibNeuro” Siberian Association of Neurosurgeon took part in Krasnodar on March 25, 2022. In spite of a long trip from Novosibirsk, the voyage to the capital of Kuban region was successful. Taking into account that the trip to the destination point ran though Sochi, the participants used the occasion and had a tour around the Olympic park after which they left for Krasnodar.

Delegates of neurosurgeons from Sochi, Rostov-on-Don, Stavropol, Nazran, Krasnodar and Novosibirsk participated in the meeting. 8 reports were presented.

Jamil A.Rzaev, MD, PhD, Physician-in-Chief of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk) presented 3 reports where he highlighted up-to-date trends in management of cerebellopontine angle tumors, tumors of petroclival localization; he also told the audience about innovations in surgical treatment of gliomas and about possibilities and techniques of transnasal surgery performing in cases of chiasmal-cellar tumors.

Aleksandr B.Dmitriev, MD, Head of Functional division of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk) told about surgical treatment of temporal lobe epilepsy, explaining in detail pre-operational planning and indications to surgical treatment of epilepsy.

The problem of surgical treatment of traumas and upper cervical spine diseases was highlighted by Dr.Igor V.Basankin, MD, PhD, Head of neurosurgical division #3 of the Regional clinical hospital.

An interesting report on up-to-date surgical treatment of lumbar spine hernia was presented by Dr.Anton A.Shatokhin, a neurosurgeon of the Stavropol Emergency Hospital.

Dr.Artyim M.Perfilyev, a neurosurgeon of neurovascular division of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk) presented his report on endovascular treatment of spinal arteriovenous malformations.

Dr.Vitaliy V.Efimov, an X-ray surgeon of the Regional clinical hospital, presented the audience clinical cases on intravascular treatment of pre-cerebral arteries dissection.

The next report on early cranioplasty after decompressive craniotomy was presented by Dr.Umar B.Gazgireev, Head of neurosurgical division of clinical hospital of Republic of Ingushetia.

The meeting was concluded by the report of Dr.Vyacheslav V.Tkachev, MD, PhD, Head of neurosurgical division #2 of the Regional clinical hospital where he stated the problems of surgical treatment of patients with cerebral aneurysms breakage in the Regional vascular center and the ways of its solving.

The report of each speaker of the conference was of a great applied significance and evokes vivid discussion among the experts and young neurosurgeons.

Participants of the meeting had an excursion around the Regional clinical hospital; all together they discussed the patients with severe neurosurgical pathology.
