Results of the Siberian Association of Neurosurgeons Meeting
The 80th meeting of “SibNeuro” Siberian Association of Neurosurgeons took place at the premises of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk) on September 24, 2021.
The Chairman of the meeting was Sergey V.Chernov, a neurosurgeon of the E.N.Meshalkin National Medical Research Center (Novosibirsk).
The meeting was opened by Dr.Sergey R.Ilyalov, MD, PhD, neurosurgeon, radio-surgeon, the Head of the Center of high-precision radiology “Gamma Clinic” (Moscow). In his report “Radio surgery of vestibular schwannomas: myth or reality” Dr.Ilyalov told about disputable issues of radio surgical treatment of vestibular schwannomas.
Report on “X-ray therapy of vascular malformations of the central nervous system. Current possibilities and tendencies” was presented by Eugeniy S.Polovnikov, MD, PhD, radio-therapist of the Academician Meshalkin National Medical Research Center (Novosibirsk). A review of the current methods of radio surgical treatment of vascular malformations of the central nervous system such as arteriovenous malformation and cavernous angioma was presented.
Each of presented reports evoked vivid interest among the audience, speakers answered a lot of questions. The next meeting of SibNeuro will be a visiting one and will be held in Ulan-Ude on October 29, 2021.
