The Children’s Day – a holiday in the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk)

Childhood is the most interesting and important period of a person’s life. The character of a person forms during this period, the child grows physically and psychologically. Children are not only joy and happiness for each parent; they are the basis of the future community. No wonder that the holiday has an international status.

Traditionally, June 1 is the first summer day with lots of events for children and their parents. Charitable organizations hold various events for children; they visit pediatric hospitals and orphanages, the give presents to children and give care to little children. They also organize contests and festivals, children with their parents take part in them. Exhibitions of children’s drawings exhibitions and different concerts are held. Sports events are the most popular entertainments during this day.

According to a tradition the administration of the Center and the employees of pediatric division express their congratulations to the little patients and their parents on the Children’s Day. The year of 2021 was not an exception. In spite of all the restrictions due to COVID situation, the volunteers of the “Cheerful Hospital” presented the patients a concert in front of the windows of the pediatric division sharing joy, happiness and bright emotions with our little patients.

The Children’s Day is a very important social fact allowing paying attention to hard conditions and living circumstances of the future generations. The holiday is a reminder to the whole community about the fact that the future of the whole manhood depends on the conditions our children grow in.
