Visiting meeting of “SibNeuro” (Dagestan republic)

A visiting meeting of “SibNeuro” Siberian Association of neurosurgeons was held in the framework of medical conference “Ismail Readings” in Makhachkala (Dagestan republic) on March 26, 2021. The doctors from Novosibirsk and Moscow came to the capital of Dagestan by invitation of colleagues-neurosurgeons and administration of the I.S.Ismailov High-Technology Medical Center.

Neurologists, neuro-radiologists, neurosurgeons and students. The themes of the reports were chosen to evoke interest in maximum number of visitors and guests of the conference.

The doctors of the Federal Neurosurgical center (Novosibirsk presented their reports. Jamil A.Rzaev, neurosurgeon, Physician-in-Chief of the Center and Andrey V.Dubovoy, neurosurgeon of neurovascular division of the Center were among the lecturers.

The report of Dr.Rzaev was dedicated to surgical management of facial pain. The accents were made on differential diagnostics of various types of facial pain, treatment algorithm, the choice of patients for this or that types of surgical procedures.

In his report on “Up-to-date possibilities of cerebral aneurysms surgical management” Dr.Andrey Dubovoy widely highlighted the problems of incidence degree, classification of arterial cerebral aneurysms, outcomes of spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage, treatment results, etc. Dr.Dubovoy told in detail about different types of aneurysms treatment – microsurgical and endovascular ones and also about their combinations. Merits and demerits of each of the mentioned treatment methods were described.

The head of neurological-neurosurgical division of the I.S.Ismailov High-Technology Medical Center, Dr.Magomedrasul Abdullaev presented his detailed report on activities of neurosurgical service of the Center. Dr.Abdullaev told about initial stages of formation of neurosurgical activities in the conditions of private medical center, development of different directions of contemporary neurosurgery, number of surgical procedures performed.

Dr.Renat Aliev told the audience about MRI in epilepsy diagnostics and presented detailed information about the aspects of X-ray diagnostics in patients with epilepsy, protocols of so-called “epi”-programs.

The meeting was finished with the report of Dr.I.P.Salamov, a neurosurgeon of the N.I.Pirogov’s Center. He presented his report on “Social networks in neurosurgery”. He told the audience about the usage of Internet-resources including social networks for obtaining professional information, webinars organization, chats, etc. Dr.Salamov conducted his personal research and found out what social networks are used by neurosurgeons for their professional communication and information exchange.

All the reports evoked vivid interest of the audience.

As it always happens during all medical conferences, joint patients’ examinations were performed together with neurologists and X-ray diagnosticians.

Of course, the host party showed its Caucasian hospitality with generous eats and drinks and intellectual talks. Besides, there was a wonderful tour to ancient Derbent with its famous fortress and picturesque mountain sites of Dagestan. It should be noted that such visiting meetings give huge impulse for further development of scientific and educational relations and also companionage between neurosurgeons of different regions of Russia.
