Results of “Surgical management of brain tumors” scientific and practical course

“Surgical management of brain tumors” scientific and practical course organized by “SibNeuro” Siberian association of Neurosurgeons and STRYKER company was held at the premises of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk) on March 25-26, 2021.

Dr.Anton V.Kalinovsky, MD, neurosurgeon, Head of Neurooncological division of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk) was the faculty of the course.

The course was divided into 3 parts: lectures, practice and surgeon’s show cases. During the lectures Dr.Kalinovsky told the audience about current possibilities of intraoperational navigation system in neurosurgery, about low-trauma method of bone structures and tumor tissues destruction with preservation of normal tissues, vessels and nerves. There also were discussions on “Extracerebral brain tumors” and “Intramedullary brain tumors”.

The second part of the course was dedicated to professional skills training on biological products. Microscopes were used during the training; participants of the course could model the main stages of approaches to brain with the usage of various motor systems heads.

After that Dr.Kalinovsky showed the participants around the Center and performed 2 surgical procedures with the usage of ultra-sound destructor, navigation and power equipment.

The guests from Novosibirsk, Blagoveschensk, Kyzyl took part in the event. Certificated were given out to all the participants.
