The Vth All-Russian Congress on pediatric neurosurgery
The Vth All-Russian Congress of pediatric neurosurgery was held at the premises of N.N.Burdenko’s Neurosurgical Institute (Moscow) on March 3-5, 2021. More than 190 participants from different regions of Russia had visited this conference; there was an online streaming of the conference. Preliminary number of audience members was about 300.
Our hospital was represented by the neurosurgeon of pediatric division, Vasiliy E.Danilin. He presented his report on treatment of tethered spinal cord syndrome in cases of spinal abnormalities of the central nervous system in children and to the experience of selective dorsal rhyzotomy application on lumbar level with minimally invasive interlaminar approach in treatment of spasticity in cases of infantile cerebral palsy.
A lot of various themes and topics dedicated to neurosurgical treatment of children with central nervous system and peripheral nervous system disorders were discussed during the conference. A workshop on application of Medtronic power equipment was also held during the conference.
Elections of the President of the All-Russian Society of pediatric neurosurgery were held in the framework of the conference. Now the President of the All-Russian Society of pediatric neurosurgery is Janna B.Semenova, MD, PhD, the head of the division of neurosurgery and neurotrauma of the Research and Scientific Institute of emergency pediatric surgery and traumatology, the chief external expert on pediatric neurosurgery.
