European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (EANS) Webinar

The webinar dedicated to the pathology of peripheral nerves was held by the EANS on February 10, 2021. The syndrome of upper thoracic aperture was discussed during the webinar. Due to a vast heterogeneity of this disease, diagnostic difficulties, absence of a precise treatment protocol, the patients with such syndrome often do not get appropriate medical assistance.

World-known neurosurgeons dealing with treatment of the peripheral nerves treatment took part in the event: S.Ferraresi (Italy), D.Garozzo (UAE), L.Rasulic (Serbia), N.Dengler (Germany), E.Zager (USA), A.Belzberg (USA), S.Rochkind (Israel), C.Heinen (Germany), R.Alimehmeti (Albania). Dr.Natalia P.Denisova, a neurosurgeon, presented functional division the Federal Neurosurgical Center with her report.

As a result of the webinar a consensus on the issues of diagnostics, conservative and surgical treatment of upper thoracic aperture syndrome based on the results of longstanding work of different specialists was reached. Some difficult but very interesting clinical cases were also presented.
