Working session of senior neurosurgeons of Siberian Federal District and the XIth meeting of “SibNeuro” Siberian Association of Neurosurgeons.

Senior specialists of Novosibirsk Region, Altai Territory, the Trans-Baikal Territory, Irkutsk Region, Kemerovo Region, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Omsk Region, Republic of Buryatia, Republic of Gorny Altai, Tyva Republic and Omsk region attended the meeting. The current issues and the possibility of a legal, methodological and educational support of neurosurgeons were discussed. A meeting of experts from different cities of our district let stimulate mind about some questions and laid the basis for further cooperation to enhance the effectiveness of neurosurgical activity. 

After the session the regular XIth meeting of the Siberian Association of Neurosurgeons was held under the chairmanship of Jamil Rzaev, Head Doctor of the Center. 

First report was presented by Nikolay A. Konovalov, M.D., head of spinal neurosurgical division of the Academician N.N.Burdenko Research Institute of Neurosurgery of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (Moscow). His report was called “Modern aspects of spinal neurosurgery”. After that. Dr. Andrey V. Dubovoy, head of neurovascular division of Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk) told about FNC’s experience in treatment of complex aneurisms. 

The final report was presented by Oleg V. Levchenko, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for the development of medical activities of the Moscow State Medical and Dental University named after A.I. Yevdokimov. Oleg V. spoke about the surgical treatment of severe traumatic brain injury. After an interesting discussion the chairman of the meeting made a presentation on year’s results of the Siberian Association of Neurological Surgeons activities and spoke about the plans for 2016. The most significant event of 2016 will be the Siberian Congress of Neurological Surgeons, that will be held at the Federal Neurosurgical Center from 14 to 16 July. On July 14 two training courses will be held -revascularization and skull base approaches. July 15 and 16 will be dedicated to scientific program, it will include guest speaker, scientific sections, discussions and poster sessions.
