The head of vascular division of the Federal neurosurgical center, Andrey V.Dubovoy, was the only Russian lector on the XIth International Conference on cerebral-vascular surgery in Jakarta.
On December 11-14, 2014 in Jakarta (Indonesia) there was the XIth International Conference on Cerebral-vascular surgery.
The conference was organized by the Asian Congress of Neurological Surgeons (ACNS) and the medical faculty of Indonesian University clinic (Pelita Harapan University). More than 300 participants from 26 countries of Asia took part in the conference. The most representative delegations came from Indonesia, Japan, India and China. The lectors were invited from European and American countries. The head of vascular division of our center, Andrey V.Dubovoy, was the only Russian participant invited as a lector.
During 4 days of conference 197 reports were delivered in 3 plenary sessions, 21 report in satellite sessions, there was also 1 video session, 1 poster session, 2 workshops (on cerebral vessels anatomy and micro anastomosis).
The organizer and mastermind of the conference was the world known Indonesian neurosurgeon Eka J. Wahjoepramono. The President of ACNS, Professor Yoko Kato, a well-known Japanese neurosurgeon, Professor Hirotoshi Sano, the President of the European Association of Neurosurgeons Vladimir Benes, an honorary President of the Conference Juha Hernesniemi and some other persons were among the well-known invited guests.
The presented reports were devoted to all current issues of neuro vascular surgery: microsurgical and endovascular treatment of aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations, constrictive and occlusive processes of brachiocephalic arteries, acute ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, treatment of Moya-Moya disease and some new technical and intellectual decisions in surgery of the above mentioned problems.
A brilliant Medicabaret Show created by the employees and students of UPH (Pelita Harapan University) was presented during the conference closing.
