Training Courses for Physicians (36 hours)

Dear colleagues!

The Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk) together with Novosibirsk State Medical University hold upgrade training courses on the following programs:

-       “Major aspects of functional neurosurgery: neuromodulation”;

-       “Endoscopic surgery of lumbar spine”;

-       “Brain dropsy and brain cysts in children”;

-       “The main aspects of brain gliomas treatment”.

All the programs are accredited on the Continuous Medical Education portal and are held in the framework of professional development program for physicians.

Program length – 36 hours.

Venue: 132/1 Nemirovich-Danchenko street, Novosibirsk (the premises of the Federal Neurosurgical Center).

«MAJOR ASPECTS OF FUNCTIONAL NEUROSURGERY: NEUROMODULATION»

Program goal: to practice the skills of diagnosing according to clinical information and the results of neurovisualization; treatment tactics choice and indications for neuromodulation; to specify peculiarities of surgical techniques in extrapyramidal disorders, drug-resistant pain syndromes, epilepsy; programming of DBS systems, SCS systems with epidural electrodes; neurostimulator in cases of PNS, MCS, vagal nerve stimulation, deep stimulation of thalamus and hippocamp.

Supervisor:

Aleksandr B.Dmitriev, teaching assistant of neurosurgical department of Novosibirsk State Medical University, MD, PhD, Head of functional division of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk).

Program description:

1.     Specific features of extrapyramidal disorders diagnostics.

2.     Treatment tactics choice of patients and indications to neuromodulation in cases of extrapyramidal disorders, drug-resistant pain syndromes, epilepsy. Efficiency predictors.

3.     Implantation techniques of DBS systems, SCS systems with epidural electrodes, neurostimulator in cases of PNS, MCS, vagal nerve stimulation, deep stimulation of thalamus and hippocamp.

4.     Programming essentials for patients with Parkinson’s disease, initial dystonia, essential tremor, SCS with epidural electrodes, neurostimulator in PNS, MCS, vagal nerve stimulation, deep stimulation of thalamus and hippocamp.

5.     Demonstrational surgery with discussion of surgical procedures standard types techniques performing in patients with extrapyramidal pathology, drug-resistant pain syndromes and epilepsy.




«ENDOSCOPIC SURGERY OF LUMBAR SPINE»

Program goal: to practice the skills of diagnosing according to clinical information and the results of neurovisualization; the choice of treatment tactics and type of surgery; to specify peculiarities of surgical techniques in endoscopic surgery in degenerative-dystrophic diseases of lumbar spine.

Supervisor:
Roman V.Khalepa, teaching assistant of neurosurgical department of Novosibirsk State Medical University, a neurosurgeon of the spinal division, Head of surgery suit of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk).

Program description:

1.     Neurovisualization results analyzing, their comparison with clinical information.

2.     The choice of treatment tactics of patients with degenerative-dystrophic lumbar spine diseases and their combinations.

3.     The choice of surgical procedure type.

4.     Demonstrational surgery with discussion of surgical procedures standard types techniques performing in patients with degenerative-dystrophic lumbar spine diseases.




«BRAIN DROPSY AND BRAIN CYSTS IN CHILDREN»

Program goal: to practice the skills of diagnosing according to clinical information and the results of neurovisualization; the choice of treatment tactics and type of surgery; to specify peculiarities of surgical techniques in surgery of brain dropsy and brain cysts in children.

Supervisor:
Sergey A.Kim, teaching assistant of neurosurgical department of Novosibirsk State Medical University, a neurosurgeon of pediatric division of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk).

Program description:

1.     Analysis of neurovisualization results, their comparison with clinical and laboratory information.

2.     The choice of treatment techniques of children with brain dropsy and brain cysts and their combinations.

3.     The choice of surgical procedure type.

4.     Demonstrational surgery with discussion of surgical procedures standard types in children with different form of brain dropsy and brain cysts.

Program goal: to practice the skills of diagnosing according to clinical information and the results of neurovisualization, optimal surgical approach and the volume of surgery, to specify peculiarities of surgical techniques in cases of brain gliomas and postoperative complications.

Anton V.Kalinovskiy, teaching assistant of the neurosurgical department of Novosibirsk State Medical University, MD, PhD, a neurosurgeon of neurooncological division of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk).


Program description:

1.     Analysis of neurovisualization results, their comparison with clinical information.

2.     The choice of treatment of patients with brain gliomas and their combinations with the other brain diseases.

3.     The choice of optimal surgical approach and the volume of surgical intervention.

4.     Demonstrational surgery with discussion of surgical procedures standard types in patients with brain gliomas.
